I'd prefer to not hurt him, but we've had troubles with aggressive raccoons living under our deck in the past. I'd like to know how to drive him out without hurting him, and then repel them from returning. How can I get rid of a racoon that is living under our deck?
Get a dog.How can I get rid of a racoon that is living under our deck?
Call your local humane society. They have traps which you can borrow or maybe rent.
Set out a trap and release it into the wild, far away from your house. If you want to keep them away, try putting lattice around the base of the deck to prevent anything from getting underneath or get a dog?!
Call your local Animal Control office
Call your county's animal shelter, or call a pest control company. If you want to do it yourself, usually smoking him out helps.
I would set a stinky bag of garbage about 10 feet from the deck and shoot it as it came out. Ofcourse that would hurt it, but it'd get the job done.

Be aware of aggressive raccoons, as they may be rabies carriers! I would have the animal control officer check them out for you also.
I wish you well..

Buy a large jar of HOT HORSERADISH....not the sauce that is mild...I mean the real deal......scoop it out and toss it under there....he's gone!
Do like I did with the raccoons living in my attic....buy a raccoon trap. I bought mine at Tractor Supply for around $80. It's a humane trap, you simply bait it with the right type of food, the raccoon goes in to eat it and the door to the trap closes behind them. Then you take the caged raccoon somewhere out in nature (I took mine to a park) and release them. The trap manual advised to take them at least ten miles from where you trapped them at.
I still have to fix the hole in my eaves where they were getting in, but this spring I successfully trapped and released three raccoons that found their way into my attic.
