How do I get a rid of a racoon from sneaking in our yard and patio?

This racoon has no fear even if we are standing at the door, what do we do?How do I get a rid of a racoon from sneaking in our yard and patio?
Shake some Critter Ridder around the area and once they get it on their paws (hot like cayenne pepper), they won't like it and will likely stay away. I have had a problem with them digging in my mulch and recently discovered this product at Lowe's. We shook it around the areas where they were digging and I haven't seen them around lately.
