I've heard of people boiling to skin off it, but I want this done right if I'm going through the trouble.
Any help would be much appreciated!A racoon has drowned in one of my open trash cans. Would like its skeleton鈥?advice/process?
Just leave it outside. Nature will strip in clean for you.
How could a raccoon drown in your trash can? They could just climb out. They are excellent climbers.A racoon has drowned in one of my open trash cans. Would like its skeleton鈥?advice/process?
First, skin it and remove the guts and as much of the meat as you can cut off without damaging the bone. Then dry what's left and let the bugs take over. Dermestid beetles are the best but some people use mealworms. If you live at the shore and can anchor a cage above low tide line, you can get the skeleton cleaned in about 12 hours by marine isopods. I have even used maggots and ants in a pinch.
Once the bugs are done, remove any other bits of muscle or brain mechanically. Degrease the bones with carbon tetrachloride, preferably outdoors. You may or may not want to use bleacj to whiten the bones. The real work comes when you try to articulate the skeleton with fine wire and tiny drill bits.
you would have to boil it forever...try baking it for an hour or so (not until its done, (skin it first) then boil in a pot large enough, so the bones don't fall apart....then let it cool....pick off the meat.....
then let the sun bleach it out.
thats relly creepy what i would do is bury in your backyard leave it for a month or two (mark the buriel area) go back dig it up and paint it white lawlers
O__o thats reallly kinda creepy....
try letting nature takes its corse n have bugs n stuff eat off of it,yummy..
