Could a racoon climb down a telephone pole if it is stuck up there?

There is a raccoon stuck on top a one behind my house. My neighbor's dogs are scaring it every time it moves! I called animal control and the DNR and they won't do anything because it is a wild animal.Could a racoon climb down a telephone pole if it is stuck up there?
LOL, this raccoon has been ';treed'; its the term used when coon hunting with dogs. The dogs chase the coon up the tree so the hunter can trap it. It is able to climb down, don't worry, it will just have to wait for the dogs to go away =) You are sweet for worrying though, raccoons are cute in a rabid wild animal type way.Could a racoon climb down a telephone pole if it is stuck up there?
It can climb down that's what its made to do try telling your neighbor to bring their dogs inside their house but I am sure it will be fine they are good climbers. Even if they don't bring their dogs in at night he will probably slip away. But if he still up there next morning I don't know what to tell you.

You should get your neighbour to restrain their dogs so that the raccoon can get down safely. And yes, if it climbed up there, it can get down, it just seems that it doesn't want to come down (because of the dogs, that is).
call the FD and say the racoon yours.
