How dangerous is a wolverine, a mongoose, racoon, badger and a tasmanian devil?

Also put them in order from most dangerous to least dangerous. If a human where to encounter any of these animals. How dangerous is a wolverine, a mongoose, racoon, badger and a tasmanian devil?
the quick answer to all your animals on that list:

very dangerous to people.

Wolverines are notorius for being one of the worst tempered animals on the planet. They have been documented scaring grizzlies away for their catch. Its small stocky size and powerful odour and jaws make it quite the opponent even for bears to contend with.

A Mongoose is similar to weasels, in their attitude and ferocity, they are known to kill cobras and dont really back down from anything.

A raccoon is usually slow and lumbersome, but can easily send a dog running with its tail between its legs. They are heavy and have a great set of jaws.

A badger is one of the toughest animals out there, it is closely related to the wolverine and has the same temper. They technically have no natural predators because most other animals avoid them at all costs.

The tasmanian devil has a attitude second to none. They have lock-jaw and can easilt bite through theigh bones of their prey. They arent actibve predators, but very efficient scavengers, they will eat bone and all!

I hope that answers your question!

Badger

Tasmanian devil

Raccoon

Mongoose Least dangerousHow dangerous is a wolverine, a mongoose, racoon, badger and a tasmanian devil?
Well, first off it would depend on the situation - especially whether or not the animal is surprised by the human, and if it has an escape route. All of these animals will generally head for the hills if a human approaches.

Statistically, I'd say that a raccoon would be most dangerous to humans, only for the fact that they easily become habituated to human activity and their propensity to develop rabies. Normally raccoons are not aggressive, but a rabid raccoon will pose a significant threat to anyone it comes in contact with.

The mongoose, mainly those species that live around human habitations, would probably be the next most likely to give humans rabies. Badgers, wolverines and devils generallly inhabit areas (the second and last are down right rare) that are sparsely populated by humans.

That said, if you are going only on the animal's nastyness and ability to cause harm, that would be a bit different.

In that case I'd say it would be the wolverine, the devil, badger, raccoon and mongoose.

The wolverine is the largest of the group, topping out at around 40 lbs. It has a bite force stronger than that of many large domestic dogs (about 187lbs psi) and its jaws can break the bones of elk and moose. In that way it has been called the 'hyena'; of the northern hemisphere. Its temperment is such that the animal will take on incredible odds and even fight to the death.

The devil is also aggressive, and proportionate to body size, has the strongest jaws of any living terrestrial mammal. It generally weighs about 25lbs.

The badger has many attributes of its larger cousin the wolverine, but is smaller (20-25lbs, I'm speaking of the American badger, taxidea). It also has a set of sharp, vicious claws like the wolverine, but they are even longer.

Raccoons can get bigger than any of the above, but generally are around 25 pounds or so. (there have been a few that topped 50lbs, but they are extremely rare, and often much of the extra weight is fat). Also, raccoons are omnivores, and their jaws are made to handle more vegetable matter than flesh. They lack the carnassial meat-slicing molars of the other animals mentioned. The claws are sharp for climbing trees, but generally aren't used in defense.

Mongooses are also spirited attackers, but their size would have to put them at the bottom of the list. A 2 pound animal could give a nasty bite, probably on the order of a domestic ferret (similar but unrelated species), but would pose little other threat.

But a wolverine, devil or even badger could do some serious damage to a person if it pressed an attack. With jaws like those it would possibly mean losing fingers, parts of the face and even more of the extremities to an attacker. Worse yet, the wolverine and badger would be more difficult for an unarmed human to kill due to their thick fur and hides, and their stocky, burly build. The devil would probably be close.

4. RACOON

5. MONGOOSE

THE BEST ONE AND STILL THE WINNER?

THE SKUNK
very i would;nt mess with them in a dark alley
You all seem to be discounting the high incidence of rabis among raccoons:

Racoon: I've seen som biggies in my day...close to 40 pounds, very intelligent, able to manipulate things with small ';hands,'; under-rated shaprt teeth and claws, but fairly high incidence of rabis virius transmission

Wolverine: medium size, but very powerful, sharp teeth and claws

Badger: medium size, aggressive

Tasmanian Devil: Aggressive, but small

Mongoose: agile, fast, sharp teeth...but small and rather shy/docile
1) Wolverine - most dangerouse because of his bad temper, healing factor, and indestructible adamantium claws that cut through anything.

2) Tasmanian Devil - 2nd most dangerous because encountering him is like getting sucked into class-5 tornado!

3) Badger - never heard of em, but i figure any dog bites an unwelcome guest.

4) Racoon - cuddly furry creature is harmless.

5) Mongoose - nice bike but overpriced, and got outranked by Trek, so they sit harmlessly in bike shop display section.
