OK, this is a good one. I seriously doubt that hitting a raccoon will set off the security light. Your Cavalier is equipped with an anti-theft ignition switch. Most newer cars have a ';chip'; key, meaning it has a resistor inside the key head that coincides with the ECM (engine electronic control module). On the Cavalier and other smaller to mid-sized mid to late 90's GM products, the ignition switch ';reads'; the key, meaning if someone stuck a screwdriver in the switch, the system would shut the ignition down. Cavaliers also do not have a reset switch for the fuel pump that I have ever heard of, seen or found, unless someone installed an aftermarket switch, which I seriously doubt. Those are most commonly found in Ford products and some imports. If it's not starting and the ';Security'; light is on, the car will need to be towed to your mechanic and possibly have the ignition switch replaced. Since the car is equipped with an air bag and the steering wheel must be removed to access the switch, it's best left to your mechanic to repair it if you do not have the correct tools or experience doing so.
Could be fuel pump safety switch shut off at impact. look in your manual for reset button.
The front bumper sensor probably engaged, it needs to be reset.
no
