How can you put on eyeliner without looking like a racoon? HELP?

Ive tried a million times to get eyeliner to look right but it always makes me look like a racoon!How can you put on eyeliner without looking like a racoon? HELP?
I use the edge of an eyeshadow applicator and just smudge a little eyeshadow (like a dark plum) in lieu of eyeliner. I think traditional eyeliner looks too stark and fake, as opposed to making my eyes look smokey.How can you put on eyeliner without looking like a racoon? HELP?

i recommend this eyeliner because you apply it then smear it with the smonge thats on the other end of the eyepencil and it takes the heaviness away

with a very steady hand...rest your elbow on the table..while you apply eyeliner...draw a smooth line close to your lashes.

Are you using liquid or pencil? Go to the marykay.com web page and use the tutorials there.
you have to smudge it, look like a racoon for like 2 seconds and then grab a q-tip and wipe it...i suck at make-up--q-tips are my best friend lol
raccoons are adorable!
stay on or as close to the lashes as much as you can. wut kind of eyeliner are you using? liquid? pencil? i reccomend pencil for a beginner
try to get liquid eyeliner and only put it on the top eyelid. the raccoon problem may be more w/ your mascara than anything else. try not wearing mascara on your bottom eyelashes also.

get a pencil liner and draw a thin line on the top lash line. it looks more sophisticated than wearing it on the bottem and you wont look like a racoon. i use almay 16 hour easy glide liner. give it a try : )
use a thin tipped pencil in a lighter color or just partially underline parts under the eye.
dont put it on the inside of your eyelids and don't put it on the bottom eyelid.........putting eyeliner on your bottom eyelid makes your eyes look smaller
you can try only lining the lower inner lid or using a charcoal or brown colored liner that way its not too much of a contrast on your skin.
