If I bring my dog to the vet for getting bite by a wild racoon.will they suggest putting her to sleep?

or will they be able to test for rabies? If I bring my dog to the vet for getting bite by a wild racoon.will they suggest putting her to sleep?
There is no test for rabies without killing the animal and inspecting its brain. They will likely mandate a quarantine for a number of months, I doubt that euthanizing the dog would be the recommendation. If I bring my dog to the vet for getting bite by a wild racoon.will they suggest putting her to sleep?
Any animal bitten or scratched by either a wild, carnivorous mammal or a bat that is not available for testing should be regarded as having been exposed to rabies. Unvaccinated dogs, cats, and ferrets exposed to a rabid animal should be euthanized immediately. If the owner is unwilling to have this done, the animal should be placed in strict isolation for 6 months and vaccinated 1 month before being released. Animals with expired vaccinations need to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Dogs and cats that are currently vaccinated are kept under observation for 45 days.

The only way to test for rabies in an animal is by killing it and looking at its brain. There is no blood test or anything like that.

If your dog is up to date on her rabies shots, then you won't have a problem. If not... well why wouldn't you keep her up to date on her rabies shots in the first place? You will probably have to pay to keep her quarantined for a while.
Is she up to date on all her shots including rabies? I have to get my dog a rabies shot annually %26amp; then his tag is registered with the local animal control. So if she is up to date on her shots I think she should be okay; but I would still want to get my dog tested to make sure he did not get anything else from the coon.
If you have the raccoon they will test it. If you can't capture the coon they will quarantine the dog. If the dog shows rabies symptoms it will be destroyed. If it doesn't develop rabies you will get the dog back.
If you can get the raccoon to them they can test it faster then the dog. Once they find out if there is rabies then they will suggest to put her to sleep.

Good luck
If your dog has been vaccinated for rabies he should be fine. They wont suggest putting him to sleep unless they have a good reason to.
Of course they would test her!

Not a single good vet on earth would euthanize a dog for no reason.
