I'm sure you can find pictures on the web. Search: ';pictures of racoons'; or similar. Any paper will do. Experiment with various thicknesses. Newspaper, [stay away from colored ads.] and paper bags from the grocery stores is great. Remember that when the paper is thick, it will take longer to dry.

You may try to make the body form from papertowel tubes or roll up that newspaper into tubes, bend them and tape them into shape. You could use wadded paper to add volume to the stomach part and cover it gently with your mache. The top layer should be a white or light colored paper so the paint will be clear and bright. Even though you have pictures, draw a portion of the body to have an example to use for that part you need. If you need to connect a head to the neck, use tape gently and cover that well. Have fun!
