y would u want to get rid of a racoon!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!/THEY ROCK KEEP IT AS A PET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Well how do i get rid of a racoon in the wall?
Right up my alley.

Presuming you know it to be a raccoon, it has to have an entry in your attic or soffit or vent or in your footings.

During warm enough weather, that critter will go out to eat at dark. Try leaving cat food out to entice it away.

The hole needs to be patched with solid material to prevent reentry. I mean like a good piece of wood screwed into the studs. You can always go back and put something decent up later.

Coons will urinate in that warm hole in the wall ruining your drywall.

If you have any kind of access to that wall (wall receptacle, light plate) you can remove that and see how well the wall is insulated. If pretty hollow, you can use any type of annoying spray like vinegar or ammonia or even bug spray to drive it out providing the stuff does not do further damage to the drywall and watch your electrical runs.

This is the time of year that a female would be holing up to have babies.

OR

You can set a live trap. It is a spring device that is baited.

Coons are very smart. The trap has to be much bigger than they are for them to enter. Bait with peanut butter or sardines or cat food or tuna.

If you catch the critter, put a snap hook or wire to keep the door hooked closed. Coons can open about anything.

The animal needs to be moved MILES away and released or disposed of. Some states do not allow releasing because of the risk of transferring rabies. Check your local wildlife laws.

OR

There are critter removal agencies that will do this for a fee.

You would be better off buying or renting your own trap and doing it yourself. Probably cheaper.

Warning: coons are very scrappy. Stay away from teeth.

I read some of the posts here. No animal control agency (like humane society) that I know if will handle coons. You have to pay an outside agency that is licensed for removal with the state.
you can use a smoker..... just smoke but i'm not sure how healthy that would be for the walls......

But i put really loud speakers against the walls when the squrriles come and they leave....they don't like loud noises and wont nest were there uncomfortable.... either way you can always call animal control....
YOU don't. You need to call animal control. You have no idea if that racoon is a mother, nursing her young, which could make her VERY aggressive. She could be injured and you don't know how to keep her and you safe. Then, what if it's rabid!? Call animal control. They removed a opossum from our attic when she got up there with her 4 babies. We'd never knew she had babes, and they'd die without her.
do what Slyder said but forget the basket just get some shot that doesn't damage houses, there's some at Fleet Farm if you have one (if not then anywhere they sell ammo), my cousin had to use it when there was a coon on the rafter in the barn, It works really good. Then just blast him in the hole and you fix your problem
